China’s Nio Is Optimistic About EV Sales Outlook, CEO Says

Apr.20 — Chinese carmaker Nio Inc. says electric vehicles now make up 10 per cent of total sales and demand is expected to keep growing. But Chief Executive Officer William Li says the global chip shortage would make the second quarter tough for Nio. The company temporarily suspended production last month. Li spoke exclusively to Bloomberg’s Tom Mackenzie at the Shanghai Auto Show.
